Last December, the AgileHand Project consortium held its 5th plenary meeting, organized in collaboration with our local partner, Tokyo University of Technology. This event coincided with the Joint International Conference of the 5th AGILEHAND Plenary Meeting & 2024 IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica Conference (APM&JAS).

The meeting provided an excellent platform to present the latest project outcomes, including updates on our solutions and their implementation at our pilot sites. It also offered a valuable opportunity for engaging with Japanese researchers to discuss advances in Manufacturing, Robotics, Automation, and Information Processing within the agro-industry and beyond.

In addition to the formal proceedings, we had the chance to visit local research centers and companies and even enjoyed climbing the mountains together 🗻!

The AgileHand project collaborates closely with its three sister projects. Together, we host a webinar on February 19th titled "Exploring the Human Role in Manufacturing Automation."

This webinar explored methods to ensure social acceptance, optimize user experience, and integrate AI and robotics into industrial processes ethically. The discussions aimed to adopt robotic and AI technologies in ways that promote inclusivity, ensure safety, and enhance human-robot collaboration, while also addressing ethical and societal issues.

Hezam Haidar, the INTEROP-VLab technical manager, represented the AgileHand project. Its session will focus on "Bridging the skills gap: Preparing the Workforce for the Integration of Flexible Robots and AI."
